About Dr. Friedman
Dr.
Friedman is a neurologist, internist, and neuroendocrinologist with
special expertise in neurohormonal disorders. This is a cutting
edge area of medicine that focuses on the interactions between hormones,
the brain, and other parts of the nervous system. These interactions
are uniquely relevant to a wide variety of neurological
disorders. Dr. Friedman completed his training at The
Harvard Neuroendocrine Unit in Boston, an affiliate of Harvard
Medical School. He has authored multiple academic
manuscripts and book chapters. He is a fellow of the American
College of Osteopathic Internists. Dr. Friedman is the
Director of THE
NEW CENTER
and is the Editorial Director of the NeuroEndocrine
Wellness NEWsletter.
Dr. Friedman has been an investigative researcher
in areas pertaining to epilepsy, migraine, mood disorders, and hormones.
Some of his work has been supported through grants from the
National Institutes of Health, the Epilepsy
Foundation of America, pharmaceutical companies, and private
foundations.
Dr. Friedman is also a reviewer of original
research articles for several major medical journals. In 1999, he
was honored with the Dr. Victor Horsley Fellowship Award, a prestigious
award for clinical research in epilepsy. This was sponsored by the
Epilepsy Foundation
of America and the Parke-Davis / Warner-Lambert Company.
